Fall softball is underway!

Stay tuned for our spring season registration coming in November​​

Key details about spring recreation softball:

We aim to have teams at all age levels, but this is dependent on having enough coaches and players at each level.

The season will start in late February and run through mid-May
-
Teams will practice on weekday evenings twice a week (our 6U division will only practice one evening a week), with each team playing a game weekly on Saturday. There may be some Friday evening games as well.

Practices are primarily at Mountain View fields, with some younger teams practicing in Los Altos. Games will be in Mountain View and Palo Alto. Older divisions (12U and above) may also play games in nearby cities.

No experience is required, only a great attitude. We focus on skills and fun - everyone plays!

More competitive Select/Redhawks teams may also be available for ages 8U and older where there is enough coach and player interest. These teams will practice or play a game on Sundays - in addition to their rec team participation.

6U - Sept 2018 - August 2020 birthdays (typically Kindergarten-1st graders)

​8U - Sept 2016 - Aug 2018 birthdays (typically 2nd-3rd graders)

10U - Sept 2014 - Aug 2016 birthdays (typically 4th-5th graders)

12U - Sept 2012 - Aug 2014 birthdays (typically 6th-7th graders)

14U - Sept 2010 - Aug 2012 birthdays (typically 8th-9th graders)

*We prefer players to play in the division designated by their birthday​​​ - if you have questions/concerns about your player's division, please reach out to leadplayeragent@mvlags.org to discuss the best fit for your player.

Fees for the spring season will be posted when registration opens.

**MVLAGS aims to support anyone who wants to play softball independent of ability to pay.We offer not only an equipment lending program but partial and full scholarships for your player. We do not require any special forms or documentation for scholarships or equipment. You simply need to ask by emailing leadplayeragent@mvlags.org.​​

Spring 2026 Rec Season
The spring season will start in late February and run until mid-late May.
​
Teams have practices 2 evenings a week (but our youngest 6U division is just once a week), and a game on most Saturdays during the season (there may be some weeknight games for older players some weeks as well depending on the number of teams formed, make-up games from rain, etc).
By playing with MVLAGS, you'll join a great community of families excited about youth softball. We have fun league events, great game day atmosphere and lots of fun! No experience necessary! Hover and click to learn more.

Yes! MVLAGS is entirely volunteer run, from our team coaches and managers to our field crew to our Board of Directors. Hover and click to learn more about various league roles and how to get involved.
MVLAGS is a rec-first league, but we realize the importance of having our own youth B/C level travel league. Our Redhawks travel teams give girls the chance to play at a higher level of competition, form deeper teammate bonds, and grow their love of softball.
Mountain View Los Altos Girls Softball (MVLAGS) is a non-profit, community-based, all volunteer organization supporting girls softball (ages 5-14) in our community. Hover and click to learn more about our league.
