Equipment

MVLAGS provides the following player equipment:

Uniform jerseys and socks for each player
Communal batting helmets, bats, balls, catcher's gear for each team.

Each player should have the following personal equipment:

Softball glove
Infield fielding mask - Required for players when playing defense in the infield
Batting helmet with attached facemask - recommended to ensure good fit and player safety
Softball cleats - recommended, or soccer cleats are good for younger divisions. No metal. (For 6U - closed-toe athletic shoes work too!)
(8U+) Softball pants, black: worn on gameday as part of the uniform
(10U+) Sliding shorts: helps with comfort when sliding

Ensure bats are for fastpitch softball (not baseball), with "USA Softball Certified" or "ASA Certified 2004" marking.

MVLAGS aims to support anyone who wants to play softball independent of ability to pay. We offer an equipment-lending/used-equipment program, and partial and full scholarships for your player.
